Personality
Gavin is a concrete, down-to-earth introvert who governs himself with his head, not heart. He has a busy air about him, which can be off-putting to those who don't know him; but he is a loyal, even overprotective friend. He is courteous and attentive to his job, although he has a tendency to make his projects perfect instead of, shall we say, timely. He likes handling the screening of applicants for Ministry positions because it is a challenge to discover whether they have had any Dark affiliations in the past. He runs his department firmly but cheerfully, and approaches disputes by trying to reason with employees from a position of power. He is intelligent, and his sense of humor is somewhat terse and dry. His chief interests are astronomy, fencing, and dueling (for sport, of course).

Biography
Gavin was raised in Wales by a wizard father and Muggle mother. He has a younger sister named Isolde. His father, a rather flamboyant fellow, was in the tourist business, and his mother an accountant. Gavin entered Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw and did well in the majority of his classes, most markedly Astronomy. Upon graduation he immediately took a job in the Ministry, although not without some qualms about his expectation of boring secretarial work. The recent turn of events is not an unwelcome change, although Gavin's concern for safety is increasing.
